Joe McElderry: ‘I’m not gay’

8132923 While still flying high on the news of his amazing success at becoming the winner of X Factor 2009, Joe McElderry was interviewed by The Sun, and put an end to rumours of his apparent homosexuality.

"I’m straight. I haven’t slept with anyone, but I’m concentrating on my music,” Joe revealed to the newspaper. The soft-spoken Geordie has won the hearts of thousands of girls all over the country, and apparently, the heart of a celebrity. After he won the show on Sunday night, Katie Price met the 18-year-old, and Joe heard rumours that she liked him.

"I met Jordan backstage and she introduced herself to me. I’m flattered that people are saying she might be interested – but there is no spark. It would be a bit wrong, don’t you think? She’s quite a few years older than me,” he said of their meeting.

The young singer, who apparently won the final of the TV talent show with 6 million of the votes, has his mind in the right place when it comes to his career. He claims he is focusing totally on his singing and not on girls.

"I know I’ll probably get offers but – for me – it’s all about the singing for now.”

That’s what we like to hear Joe!
