Madonna adoption approved

Madonna has won the right to adopt a second child from Malawi.

Madonna in Malawi (PA Photos)The country’s Supreme Court of Appeal said the earlier hearing, which took place in April, had failed to take modern realities into account when it rejected the star’s initial bid.

Chief Justice Lovemore Munlo also said Madonna’s charitable commitment to the welfare of disadvantaged children should have been taken into account.

Usually, potential adoptive parents must live in the African nation for 18th months while child welfare experts decide their suitability.

Madonna first met Mercy in an orphanage in 2006 when she adopted David Banda, now three.

It’s official: Britney has a boyfriend

Over a year after ending her disastrous relationship with paparazzo Adnan Ghalib, and after weeks of rumours, it’s finally been confirmed – Britney Spears is in a new relationship.Britney Spears and Jason Trawick (PA Photos)

The lucky man is her long-time agent, Jason Trawick. And, thankfully, Papa Spears approves.

The star was photographed with Jason (and her two sons) on holiday in the Bahamas in May, but her camp denied they were anything more than friends. But now a source close to the family has spoken to People magazine. "They are totally and definitely dating," the insider said. "Her dad loves him. He’s the best thing that happened to her."

"They’re very sweet together," the source continued. "He makes Britney really happy, and he’s great with the boys." Jason has been Britney’s agent since May 2008 and is credited with helping her get her career back on track following her breakdown. The 37-year-old also guides the careers of Paris Hilton and Hilary Duff.

Britney plays London’s O2 Arena tonight.

Madonna adoption to be approved?

Madonna looks set to be granted permission to adopt a Malawian girl, after taking her case to the country’s Supreme Court of Appeal.

Madonna and Mercy (Reuters) The star’s attempts to adopt four-year-old Mercy James were blocked by a judge in April, due to a rule which states that potential adoptive parents need to have lived in the country for 18 months.

Madonna left the Malawi devastated after losing her bid, but went straight to her lawyers to launch an appeal. And now it seems she has got her way – according to a PA report, two of the three appeal judges have stated the adoption should be allowed to take place and Malawi’s Supreme Court of Appeal will announce the ruling on Sunday.

If so, Mercy will start a new life in New York, alongside Madonna’s other adopted child, David Banda, also from Malawi, and biological children Lourdes and Rocco.

Lindsay Lohan reunites with ex-girlfriend

After following ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson around London last week, it seems that Lindsay Lohan’s persistence has finally paid off – she and Sam have reunited and flew back to Los Angeles together on Monday.

Sam Ronson and Lindsay Lohan (Rex) The pair were photographed together at Heathrow on Monday as Lindsay posted a message on Twitter, hinting they were back together: “Leaving London but with my favorite favorite travel buddy & great news to share!! Maybe…. ;)

But Lindsay’s UK trip didn’t start out so well – Sam initially rebuffed the star’s attempts to get in touch and, according to the Daily Mail, even made a quick exit from a club at the weekend after Lindsay turned up unexpectedly.

According to the newspaper, Lindsay arrived at Bungalow 8 where her ex was enjoying an evening out with brother Mark Ronson. But as soon as she made her presence known, Sam ditched the club and returned to her hotel, Blakes at Kensington, keen to avoid any contact. But in the early hours of the morning, persistent Lindsay was then photographed arriving at Blakes.

Thankfully for Lindsay, Sam seems to have relented and the on-off couple are back on, for now at least.

Get your Excitement UP (and keep it that way for five months)

Pixar animation UP has opened with a massive $21.4 million weekend box-office take. And it fully deserves it! Bravo, Pixar…

up_disneypixar_200

The problem is, those of us over here in the UK won’t be able to watch it until October. The desire you are feeling to go and see it, right now, will have to be quelled. I just hope you’re still excited in five months time. I’m afraid I’m not allowed to review it myself, per se.

But I can give you an estimation of the look on my face when I saw it…

…and by that I don’t mean that I wet myself. I was happy. THAT’S MY HAPPY FACE OKAY!? It’s ace…

Also, I can now announce that we do have a review in from our intrepid reporter – Jonathan Crocker – in Cannes. Read it now!

Peter Andre to sing for Queen?

Peter Andre’s personal life may be a mess, but his career is on the up – it’s been reported that the Aussie star will perform for the Queen at this year’s Royal Variety Performance! Pete’s apparently been invited to sing tracks from his new album, which he recently recorded in Los Angeles.

Peter Andre (PA Photos) Meanwhile, Peter has used his column in New! magazine to refute claims he has already met another woman since splitting with Katie Price in May.

“Apparently, I’ve got one woman out in Cyprus, another in Los Angeles and I’m even supposed to be involved with a member of staff,” Peter wrote. “I can hold my head up high and say I’ve been 100 percent faithful throughout my marriage and still am, and any reports suggesting otherwise are totally hurtful and false.”

He continued: “It’s really important to me, though, that people know I didn’t just wake up one day and decide to leave on a whim. My children have always been the most important thing in my life and they always will be.”

Katie Price seems to already be putting the split behind her – or at least that’s what she wants us to believe: “Everyone deals with breakups in different ways and my way is to just keep going and not think about it,” the glamour model wrote in her column for OK! magazine. “I’m just focusing on my kids and my friends.”
